This set offers a comprehensive range of crown shapes combined with the highest quality of manufacture. They are ideally sized for a small English wheel, perfect for making smaller, tight-radius parts. Smoothing detail work for your hand-formed parts is a snap using these anvils. They are custom-designed to make the metal shaping process smooth and efficient.
Set Includes Six Anvils and One Upper Wheel
Anvil Dimensions:
Each anvil is 2" wide × 2-½" in diameter with pressed-in sealed bearings and
a ½" steel axle. Anvils are individually numbered 0 - 5, indicating the
amount of crown, as follows:
- #0 -- Completely flat, no crown
- #1 -- ¾" contact area
- #2 -- ½" contact area
- #3 -- 3/8" contact area
- #4 -- ¼" contact area
- #5 -- 1/8" contact area
This is a great range
of crowns which will give you the flexibility to form or planish a large
variety of shapes.
Upper wheel:
The upper wheel is 2" wide × 4-½" in diameter. It also had pressed-in sealed
bearings and a ½" steel axle. This upper wheel comes highly polished (nearly
a mirror finish), which will produce parts with a beautiful surface.
- The anvils and upper wheel are machined from of 4340 tool steel
